Hand lamps without lanterns.-A lamp for use in bakers' ovens &c. is provided with leads 1 enclosed in asbestos tubing 2, the carrier 3 being arranged as a self-supporting stand, the stem of which is wound round with asbestos cord. An upwardly-directed shade 5 is mounted on the carrier 3 to shield the lamp 4 and adjacent parts against the action of heat rays.
