Abstract

187,344. Bannister, A., and Pringle, T. July 27, 1921. Indicators actuated by floats.-In a liquid-level indicator, particularly for use in ships' bilges, oil - tanks and the like, of the type in which a graduated tape 3 moves over rollers 4 beneath an inspection opening 2 and is connected at one end to a guided float 12 and at the other to a counterbalancing weight 6, the tube containing the float and weight is made in three sections 11, 18, 19, the lowest being perforated. In a modification, Fig. 3, the tape moves over rollers or a surface 17 in a box 14 on the ship's deck the float being protected by a perforated tube 11 and the weight by a tube 15.
