Abstract

186,989. Powell, J. H. July 7, 1921. Electric speed indicators.- In an anemometer or other fluid speed meter, the speed is indicated electrically by a frequency meter 8 the current through which is broken or its strength varied many times per revolution by a contact maker 3 fixed on the shaft of the propeller or vane wheel. Alternatively, the contact maker may be replaced by a similarly shaped armature arranged between the poles of an electromagnet, the coils of which are in circuit with the frequency meter.
