Abstract

186,957. British & Foreign Industrials, Ltd., and Cooklin, I. June 3, 1921. Telescopic and expanding tables.-In an extensible table wherein a leaf 2 may occupy a stowed position on slides 3, 4 attached to the ends 1 of the table, upon separation of the ends in the usual manner, a projection 16 on the outer slide 3 strikes a projection 15 on the leaf and raises it into position by the engagement of an incline 11 on a bar 10 at either side of the leaf with a block 12 on the inner slide 4. In lowering the leaf, it is caused to leave the ends of the table by the engagement of a projection 17 in a slot 19 in the outer slide 3 upon preliminary separation of the ends. The table has a depending flange 13, 14 except near the meeting point of the ends for a distance equal to the width of the leaf, so that the flange appears continuous when the leaf is stowed.
