Abstract

186,958. British & Foreign Industrials, Ltd., and Cooklin, I. June 3, 1921. Telescopic and expanding tables.-An extensible table has inner slides 5 attached to the centre portion 2 and outer slides 3 attached to the end portions 1, on which two leaves 10 may occupy a stowed position from which they may be raised into position in the table. Upon separation of the ends in the usual manner, the leaves are drawn outwards by links 20 pivoted to the ends of the table having pins 22 engaging in slots 23 in bars 16 on either side of the leaves, and are raised by the engagement of inclines on the bars 16 with blocks 17 on the inner slides 5. In lowering the leaves, they are separated from the end portions upon preliminary opening bv the striking of projections 15 on the outer slides 3 against stops on the leaves. A flange 11 is provided at either side of the leaves to correspond with a similar flange on the table, and depends from a pivoted part 24 so that it may be folded downwards in the stowed position.
