Abstract

186,685. Krause, G. June 30, 1921. Foot-arch supports.-Boots and shoes are provided with an arch support to fit the cavity which forms in the sole of a loaded moving foot. This cavity is stated to be trough-shaped of 3 to 4 mm. in depth and extending from the heel forwards, as in Fig. 1. A last 4, Fig. 6, is specially made to correspond with this cavity, and an insole 2 is placed therein and the cavity filled and an outer sole 1 secured in place. In a modification a device is constructed for insertion in a finished boot, as in Fig. 10. A piece of leather 8, Fig. 9, linoleum, or asbestos is placed on the last referred to above, fillers 3, 9 added, and a thin metal plate 10 riveted thereto.
