Abstract

184,777. Wallis, H. C., and Flynn, E. W. A. Aug. 16, 1921, [Convention date]. Joints and connections.-A tongue C secured by a bolt and nut G in a recess B in the end of the sides A of the bedstead or wire mattress or settee, is formed with a head or projection D at its end to engage an inclined face or faces Q secured on the head and foot members J of the bedstead &c. The head D is formed with one or more plain, rounded, or inclined faces F and is connected to the tongue C by a tapered neck E. The inclined faces F may also be tapered. Over a mortise K in the head or foot ends J of the bedstead is secured a plate M having a keyhcle slot N and flanges P formed on the edges. Pointed projections may be provided on the face of the plate. Inclined faces Q, which may be tapered, are formed on the rear of this plate on each side of the straight portion of the keyhole slot N. The Specification as open to inspection under Sect. 91 (3) (a) comprises also, in place of the plate M, a plug R, Fig. 8 (Cancelled), having a pair of horns S with inclined faces Q secured to the members J by a screw T engaging a notch U in the plug. The tongue C may be formed on a casting shrunk on the end of a metallic bedstead side. This subject-matter does not appear in the Specification as accepted.
