Two half-collars A, B meet around the pillar C, and are secured by a screw D passing into a member E which receives the angle iron or wire mattress. In a modification, Fig. 10, only one half-collar B is used and is secured by a screw F with a hooked end which is inserted into a hole in the side of the pillar.
