Abstract

184,561. Alwyn, L. May 12, 1921. Walls; girder floors; roofs. -A building, Fig. 3. is formed of hollow concrete beams which are erected vertically or horizontally in close contact for the walls 1, and are laid side by side for the floors 3, and in each case are secured together and to the sills 2 by bolts or rods 1, 9, the fastenings for which are disposed inside the beams; hand-holes are provided to give access to the nuts and plates 6. The wall beams are of story height ex cept at the door and window openings, which are provided with sills 19 and lintels 20, 20<x> also formed as hollow beams. The hollows in the wall beams may serve as chimneys. The roof trusses consist of breeze-concrete rafters 38 and ties 39, Fig. 9, bolted together and to the wall plate.
