Abstract

Elastic-diaphragm pressure gauges; mounting- details for.-Comprises a construction of gauge of the diaphragm type which is fitted with a signal disc indicating a maximum pressure to which the instrument is previously adjusted, a spring-pressed valve cutting off pressure-fluid from the gauge when the maximum pressure is reached. A diaphragm 5 is clamped between the main body 1 and the part 3 by means of a nut 4. The body 1 is recessed to receive a plunger 9 the lower and convex side of which is pressed against the diaphragm by a spring 11 located between the upper side of the plunger and a screwed collar 12 by which the spring may be adjusted to a particular maximum pressure. The top of the body 1 is recessed to receive the indicating dish and mechanism which is arranged as a unit. This comprises a disc 15 turning about an axis 16 below a disc 17 provided with sector-shaped openings, which disc 17 together with a lower strap 18 is secured to the body 1 by screws surrounded by springs 31. A bell-crank lever 24 pivoted at 23 to a leg 22 depending from the strap 18 rests at 25 on a boss 26 formed on the plunger. At the other end the part 24 carries a pin 27 which engages a pin 28 on the disc 15, the pin 28 being held against the pin 27 by a spring 29. At the maximum pressure, which is indicated by coloured portions of the disc 15 appearing under openings in the disc 17, the plunger engages the shoulder 13 and can move no further. At the same time a valve 33 which is spring-pressed to follow the movement of the plunger cuts off the pressure-fluid from the device.
