Abstract

Hinges.--In a door hinge of the kind which provides for the adjustment of the hinge so as to correct errors in fitting the door or through warping or shrinking the hinge plate G to be secured to the door jamb has an elongated and camshaped slot C<2> with which engages a side projection on a pin C projecting through this slot and carried by a back plate E fixed to the door jamb. This pin projects into a hole C<1> in a front plate F which is laid over the intermediate hinge plate G. By turning the pin by means of a screwdriver, the engagement of the projection on the pin with the cam-shaped slot provides for the raising or lowering of the hinge plate. The three plates E, G, F are then clamped together, and to the, door jamb by bolts passing through the holes B<1> in the plates E, F, the holes B<1> in the plate G being elongated to permit of the adjustment of this member. The plates E, G have interengaging surface serrations D, and the top and bottom edges of the plate E is slotted at A, and with these slots engage bent-over projections A' on the outer plate F when the plates are in the assembled position.
