Abstract

157,574. Bunn, C. W. Oct. 29, 1919. Hinges. - Concealed hinges for doors and other swinging members are detachably secured in position by providing a frame plate B with a rectangular recess 7 shaped to house a plate A of the hinge secured to a door or other movable member. The hinge pin is carried by a projection 2 of the plate A, the arm 4 carrying the door plate 5 being movable through an opening 1 in the plate A into a recess 11 in the frame plate B. The plate A is detachably secured in position by screws 8 engaging screwed holes in the member B, the surfaces of the members A, B being flush when the parts are assembled. The upper and lower attachment plates for the hinges of a door may be formed as one continuous metal member shaped with recesses for the hinge members. This form is stated to be particularly applicable for doors of motor vehicles.
