Abstract

183,347. Judge, A. W. July 6, 1921. Plane-trigonometry calculators.-A device for solving triangles for use in aerial navigation comprises a member 3 marked with concentric circular arcs 4 which intersect radial lines 6, the centre line 5 representing ground-speed and any one of the others air-speed, the angle of inclination to the centre-line being the drift-angle. Movable along the centre-line is a transparent rotatable disc 7 bearing compass markings and a protractor scale 8, at the centre of which is pivoted a graduated wind-speed arm 11.
