Abstract

183,302. Bowden, H., and Morris, P. V. May 21, 1921. Skein holders.- A domestic device for holding skeins of wool when winding into balls comprises three arms 8, each formed from one length of wire, slidably carrying wire extension pieces 11 which are provided with curved skein supports 14. The arms 8 are hinged at 9 to a triangular wire device 6 which is secured to the rotating head 3 by staples, part of each hinge being extended at 10 to form a stop. The head 3 rotates on a pin 2 which projects upwards from a base 1, and a spring 4 is arranged lightly to press the head 3 on to the flat top 5 of the pin 2. When the device is not in use, the arms 8 are turned back into a vertical position.
