182,977. Bristol Tramways & Carriage Co., Ltd., and Payne, B. A. April 29, 1921. Switches, quick-make, specially adapted for use on motor vehicles, comprise an insulating-disc 16 rotatable by a handle 18 with pointer 19, and carrying one or more spring-pressed rollers such as 24 each adapted to bridge a pair of fixed contacts such as 27, 28, definite on and off positions being obtained by the rollers advancing into notches such as 29 or 31. Two such switches are shown mounted in the insulating base-plate 13 within the cover 10. The upper switch controls the lights of the vehicle, serves, when the contacts 27, 28 are bridged to connect the battery to the dynamo, and when the contacts 83 are bridged, to complete in addition the lighting circuit. The lower switch completes or breaks the ignition circuit. The leads are connected to nuts 30 mounted on cheese-headed screws screwed into the base-plate 13; the heads of these screws, 27 &c. constitute the fixed contacts. Rotation of the switches is limited by lugs such as 22.
