Abstract
588,388. Steering gear. DALRYMPLE, J. L. Feb. 14, 1945, No. 3711. [Class 114] A steering gear is hand-operated - by wheel 4 at the normal steering position, but can be controlled from remote positions electrically by changing over to electric working. Clutch shaft 11 is then operated by clutch wheel 22 to the shaft 1, this wheel being driven by reversable electric motor 25 in accordance with .pressing of port or starboard switches PS or SS in remote switch box. Lights P. S and W controlled by cam disc 46 indicate port on starboard helm or central position. The switches PS, SS control the motor circuit through relays 31.
