Abstract
182,589. Williams, I. W. T. April 15, 1921. Corves; sides; doors, wagon.-The end or side door of a tip-cart, lorry, or colliery tram is hinged at its upper edge so as to be capable of ready attachment or detachment by providing the vehicle body with two pivoted lugs A, Figs. 1 and 4, carrying rotatable locking-keys B which are turned into line with the main portion of the lugs to allow the lugs to engage holes in the ends of a top-strap H, Fig. 7, on the door and are then turned back at right-angles to the lugs to secure the door in position. The lugs are pivoted directly to the vertical edges of the sides of the vehicle, with or without the aid of brackets. The door is secured in its normal or closed position by means of pins engaging fixed lugs on the vehicle which pass through holes in the ends of a bottom strap F on the door.
