Abstract

182,428. Soc. Anon. des Anciens Etablissements Panhard et Levassor. June 27. 1921, [Convention date]. Valves.-In engines having a pair of reciprocating sleeve valves 3, 4, the inner sleeve 3 has the inlet and exhaust ports arranged so as to come wholly above the packing-rings 11 in the cylinder head in the uppermost position of the sleeve. The sleeve 3 is further formed with a series of vertical or oblique bars 10, Fig. 4, across its ports 5 to form a bearing-surface for packing-rings 11. The sleeves may be made of thin steel &c. so as to be flexible.
