Protectors, construction of.-An india-rubber or like sole-pad comprises a thick toe-piece 1 having a thinner rearwardly-projecting tongue 5 and thick side pieces 6, 7 so shaped that the thin connecting-strips 8 between the thick portions form approximately a Y. A separate pad 2 adapted to be fixed at the rear of the sole has sinuous back and front edges 9, 10. The grooves between the thick portions of the pad may be of U section with a further groove of V shape in the bottom of the U. Additional grooves 2<a>, 6<a>, 7<a> may be provided to facilitate the cutting of the pad to fit various soles.
