Heels, covering and facing.-A clamping device for securing the rear part of the sole to the breast of a Louis heel comprises a clamping member 5 for engaging the sole, a back member 1 for engaging the back of the shoe, and tension springs 7, 8 which engage lateral extensions or parts of the two members and form the only connection between them. One end 14 of the rear member may engage the lower rear corner of the heel, and the other end 9 may be rearwardly curved to form a finger piece or handle. The forward side of the back member may have a flanged extension 10 for engaging the upper surface of the last 12.
