Abstract

337,287. Burbush, P. P. Jan. 9, 1030. Mud guards. - A mud guard for attachment to a shoe &c. heel comprises a lip or edge p' formed so as to move rearwardly of the heel under pressure of the foot. The lip P<1> may be formed integral with a heel pad or plate p by which it is secured to the heel, or it may be formed separately, and a shrouding member s, preferably of sponge rubber, wipes the lip when pressure is released. The pad may be formed adjacent the lip p<1> with a concave portion p<11> adapted to create suction to draw mud &c. under the heel when pressure on it is released.
