Abstract
191,341. Maidlow, A. J. July 17, 1922. Protectors, construction of. -A protector for the soles of boots or shoes is constructed of three pieces A, C, D. The toe piece A has a curved projecting tongue B. The side pieces C, D are shaped at H, I to the edge of the sole and meet in a straight line. At their forward ends they conform to the projecting shape of the toe piece; at their rear edges they are chamfered at M, L. The three pieces in contact completely cover the sole or if a large sole is used the parts are opened out. Recesses N are provided in the tread surfaces to receive the beads of nails.
