Abstract

181,770. Baker, G. S. Feb. 16, 1921. Sheet-cutting machines. -In a biscuit &c cutting- machine, the cutter and embosser cross-heads 28, 36 are mounted in oscillatory frames 5 adapted to move in a large arc about a shaft at the base of the machine and in a forward direction at the same speed as a continuous y-moving dough-carrying web 1. As shown, the cuttirg-table 4 is also mounted in the frames 5. Movement is imparted to the frames, positively in both directions and without lost motion, through links and levers 26, 25, from a shaft 24 which is rocked by cams 7, 8 on a shaft 9 engaging respectively rollers L4, 15 on arms 10, 11 of a bell-cranklever connected to the shaft 24 by levers 19, 23 and a link 21, adjustments being provided at 20, 22. The ejector bar 51 is loaded by springs 52 instead of by weights. The cutter cross-head is reciprocated by eccentrics 31 and the embosser cross-head is operated through levers 37 and is connected to the cutter crosshead through spring devices 45 as described in Specification 182,072.
