Abstract

181,557. Argill, W. H. April 21, 1921. Arc lamps. - Electric connection to a movable carbon holder in a kinematograph or like lamp is made by means of two copper &c. bars 1, 2, Fig. 1, pivoted by means of copper rivets to a double-forked link 3 and to forked pieces 6 carrying pins 9 for insertion in the binding posts 10. The whole conductor, except the pins, may be covered by a loose flexible sheath of asbestos or other insulating- material. The forked link 3 may be replaced by a pair of flat links on opposite sides of the bars. An additional connection between the bars 1, 2. may be made by a short piece of flexible conductor secured by binding-screws on the bars. To suit various arrangements of terminals, the terminal pins 9 may be in line with, offset from, orbent at right angles to the forked pieces 6; or a universal joint may be provided by means of a twisted link 14, Fig. 5, pivoted to the forked' terminal piece 6 and to an additional forked link 16.
