Abstract

181,462. Roemer, J. F. March 10, 1921. Tension apparatus. - Apparatus for applying tension to the spine for surgical purposes comprises a supporting-frame fitted with body and leg rests, headengaging harness, and foot harness carried by a frame extension which is adjustable from the side of the table. In the form shown, a tubular rectangular frame 10 carries a padded body rest 14 supported by springs 15, and a leg rest 13 mounted on rollers. An extension 16 of the frame carries an adjustable divided face rest 22 and a standard 23 fitted with an adjustable cross-head 24 to which are secured the adjustable elements 25 of a head-engaging harness 26, 27. An extension 30 at the other end of the main frame is adjustable by means of bevel-gearing 31 and carries a standard 33 connected by springs 36 to ankle bands 35.
