Abstract
260,690. Du Prel, G. F. Aug. 11, 1925. R÷ntgen-ray apparatus.-The Tesla transformer is mounted on the stand carrying the ray-tube so that the tuba can be adjusted during working without affecting the transformer. As shown, the ray-tube casing 9 and transformer 14 are mounted on a tubular arm 8 adjustably supported in a socket 7 on a clamp 6 carried by a dismountable stand formed of tubular members 4 connected by screw-clamps 5. The stand is secured to a tube or bed 11 by a screw-clamp having jaws 1, 2 which may be maintained parallel by an adjusting-screw 12. The transformer is enclosed by insulating materials, and the low-tension and high-tension leads 16, 17 pass to it through the bore of the arm 8. The hightension lead is reduced in length by mounting the ray-tube casing 9 on one side of the arm 8, and it is enclosed in a protective shell 18.
