Cistern discharge valves.-The stem 5 of a cistern discharge valve is adapted to be clamped in the guide 6, secured to the overflow pipe 2, by a, cam on the end of the float stem 7. The shape of the cam is such that the valve can be raised by means of the handle 10, but is held in raised position by the cam until the upthrust on the float 8 ceases on the emptying of the cistern. The discharge valve is a disc seating on the flared end 1 of the outlet pipe.
