Abstract
179,524. Weigand, H.. May 2, 1921, [Convention date]. Maps.-A combined map indicator and advertising device comprises a glazed box a carrying a transparent map c surrounded by glass-covered squares d having advertisements preferably painted thereon. Behind each square d is a lamp g, the lamps being arranged in series and lit by the removal of a street list from a switch hook x. Mounted on rails i on two sides of the box a are sleeves m which carry wire forks p, p<1> and handles n, n<1>. Located at the intersection of the forks p, p<1>, and engaging them by grooved wheels, is a lamp s in the circuit of the lamps g. The lamp s can be brought to any position behind the map c by adjustment of the forks p, p', the handles n, n<1> of which have hinged points o, o<1> riding over co-ordinate scales k, k<1>. The forks p, p<1> pass through and are guided by slots in the sides of a frame l, the outer ends of the forks which are held together by members r being furnished with rollers. A fixed hook z is provided for temporary support of the street list.
