Abstract

Roller bearings.-To insert convex rollers a into concave races, one or both of the races is provided with a. recess, groove, or flat d, the rollers being turned on their sides as shown in dotted lines in Fig. 1, and swung round into position after insertion. The arrangement permits an increased breadth of roller. The various radii of curvature may be such that point contact is obtained under no load and line contact under load.
