Abstract
178,268. Yates, C. H. Feb. 26, 1921. Packing jointing washers.-Jointing washers 6, 7 are packed by stacking them about fingers 1, 2, Fig. 2, on a base 8, which may be the bottom of a box, or adapted to fit the bottom of a box, or a show card, or like base. The fingers are bent up from a blank in the form of a cross, the short arms 3, 4 of which pass through slots in a plate 16 and are clenched up under a show card or base of a box. A retaining-member 9 of resilient wire is applied in the position shown in broken lines in Fig. 1, and is turned to the position shown in full lines, the parts 10 engaging with serrations 13 on the fingers. The tops of the fingers are bent over at 14, 15, to prevent the rings from falling off when the device is tilted, and when the device is used in connection with a box, the lid may be adapted to close on to the fingers. The base 8 may have an extension for displaying purposes, which may be adapted to fold up at rightangles against the side of the box.
