Abstract

176,465. Brown, C. L. Nov. 30, 1920. Cylindrical bearings; dust &c., excluding.-In a machine for mixing concrete, mortar, paint, and other materials, the mixer shaft 13 is journaled in bearings in the drum 2, each bearing having an outward extension mounted rotatably in the frame 1 and an inward extension co-operating with a collar 22 mounted adjustably on the shaft. The collar and bearing have interengaging ribs and grooves to prevent entry of the material into the bearing. Grease supplied from a cup 28 to the bearing and the telescopic joint assists in preventing entry of the material into the bearing. The drum bearing may be integral with the end of the drum or formed by members 17, 20 bolted thereto.
