Abstract

212,163. Ionides, P. D., and Ransome Machinery Co. (1920), Ltd. Sept. 8, 1922. Rotary batch-mixers. - In concrete and like mixing machines of the type comprising a drum which rotates about an inclined axis during mixing and is tilted into its charging and discharging positions, the drum consists of a frusto-conical part b, Fig. 3, an annular part c, and a base d which is curved to merge into the annular part c and a central tubular bearing e, and is provided with smooth radial ribs f upstanding from the base. Blades h are secured to straps g, the outer blades being provided with a lower offset portion y. The drum is mounted on a yoke i, Fig. 4, which can be rocked by a handle m through gearing k, and is rotated by an annular gear n from an engine. The dry materials are fed by a skip v riding on guides w, and water is supplied from a tank r through pipes t' fitted with a hand-operated valve. The machine is mounted on a pair of wheels t, steadying jacks u being provided ; or the frame may be fitted with four wheels.
