Abstract

176,375. Metropolitan - Vickers Electrical Co., Ltd., (Assignees of Kasley, A. T.). March 3, 1921, [Convention date] Dynamos, driving.-The speed and torque of two engines are equalized by arranging the governor of each to operate, first, the supply valve of its own engine, and secondly, when this valve has been fully actuated, the supply valve of the other engine in a reverse direction. As shown applied tn two engines 10, 11 driving an electric generator with rotating field magnet 15 connected to one engine 10 and rotating armature connected to the other engine 11, the governor 25 of the engine 10 operates through a link 26 and bell-crank lever 27 first the supply valve 33 by a rod 29 and lever 32, biased to the open position by the spring 34, and secondly the supply valve 43, of the other engine, by the lever 42 engaged by a projection 49 on the rod 45. The governor 35 of the second engine 11 operates in a similar manner first the valve 43 and secondly the valve 33 in a reverse direction, when the first valve has been fully .actuated.
