Round holes, enlarging and trueing.-A grinding-attachment for a lathe or like machine comprises a grinding-wheel a carried by a hollow spindle c, which is mounted on the face-plate of the machine and is adjustable radially thereof to produce the required diameter of work, the grinding-wheel thus having a planetary motion. The spindle is mounted by ball bearings d on a pin e, which is screwed to a block f provided with a recess to engage a dovetail-guide g. The guide is secured to the face-plate h and the block is adjusted by a screw q having a graduated operating- head. The spindle is driven by a belt m. from a shaft p, Fig. 4, and the slack of the belt, due to the varying distance between the spindle and the shaft, is taken up by a pulley x carried by a weighted lever 4.
