Abstract

173,861. Baker, R. Oct. 7, 1920. Rails and chairs, securing to sleepers.-Flatbottomed rails a are secured to sleepers by clips e arranged in pairs and having eccentric holes for bolts c which are connected together by a plate d below the sleeper. The portion of the clips engaging the side of the rail flange is formed square, and in all four positions the clips overlap the rail to the same extent. The Provisional Specification states also that chairs may be secured to sleepers by eccentric ferrules made to fit the trenail holes and having marks cast in their heads to indicate the positions giving the varying amounts of eccentricity.
