Abstract
170,479. Jackson, W. J. Mellersh-, (P. & M. Co.). Sept. 20, 1920. Creeping of rails, preventing.-In rail anchors of the type comprising a tapering shoe engaging one rail flange and a yoke passing beneath the rail and engaging the other rail flange and the shoe, the yoke is adapted to exert a torsional spring pressure when applied to the rail. The shoe 12 has upper and lower lips 14, 17 embracing the rail flange, and a series of notches 18 engaged by a lip 22 on the yoke 13. The lip 22 may be extended to overlap the edge of the rail base, while the lip 20 at the other end of the yoke is bent towards the sleeper 11.
