Abstract

176,194. Jackson, W. J. Mellersh-, (P. & M. Co.). Jan. 4, 1921. Creeping of rails, preventing.-In a creep anchor as described in Specification 175,504 and comprising a torsional spring yoke in engagement with a separate shoe member made from sheet metal bent on parallel lines to provide lips 32, 33<a> to fit over and under the rail flange, the lip 33a is tapered as at 41<a> so as to allow slight rearward movement of the yoke without breakage or distortion. A boss may be pressed from the back of the shoe to increase its width to that of a malleable cast shoe. The shoes are so designed that the edge of one sheet metal blank will nest with the opposite edge of another blank.
