454,527. Anti-creep anchors for railway &c. rails. TURTON, PLATTS, & CO., Ltd., G., and COWEN, J. C., Meadow Hall Road Works, Wincobank, Sheffield. Oct. 8, 1935, No. 27811. [Class 104(ii)] A rail anchor of the single piece type comprises a resilient metal yoke in which two sideby - side rail-gripping jaws C, D are constrained, when the yoke is fitted to the rail, to move in opposite directions and thereby grip the rail with a shearing action. The yoke may be blanked out from a resilient plate and bent at B<2> so as to be more or less parallel vertically but not horizontally, so that when the yoke is forced on to the rail, the edges E, F<1> of the two jaws are forced apart. In another form, the free ends of the jaws are bent outwards, and in another form they are turned inwards and provided with coacting bevelled ends.
