Abstract

170,377. Taggart, J. Scott-, and Radio Communication Co., Ltd., and Turner, L. B. July 17, 1920. Thermionic amplifiers.-In an electron discharge device having input and output sides connected so that transference of energy takes place between them, such transference being normally of such sense or magnitude as to maintain stability, the extent of the transference during stability is adjusted by varying electrically the damping of one of the valve circuits. The grid oscillatory circuit L, C, of the valve V2 is coupled to an anode-circuit retro-active coil R, and across the circuit L, C is shunted a valve V<1>. Input potentials applied to AB vary the conductivity of the valve V<1> and produce self-oscillation in the valve V<2>. A potentiometer arrangement P may be used to vary the normal damping effect of the valve V<1>. The invention is not restricted to trigger relays. Specification 130,408 is referred to.
