Abstract

Anthraquinone-1-sulphonic acid is heated under pressure with ammonia, or a liquid containing ammonia, in presence of a sulphonic acid of an aromatic nitro-compound, for instance sodium nitrobenzenesulphonate. 1-aminoanthraquinone and sulphanilic acid are obtained. Specifications 21710/11 and 115,259 are referred to.
