Abstract

Dog and like collars.-The front part of a dog or other collar is made rigid or inflexible by means of a plate, wire or the like or by stitching and is shaped to accommodate the throat and prevent too great pressure thereon. Fig. 1 shows the device applied to a collar of circular crosssection in which the edges of a flat band are brought round and stitched together. The front portion is lieft flat and to it is riveted a curved metal plate A which may also serve as a nameplate. The inner side of the rigid portion may be lined, and a buckle, preferably of the type described in Specification 134.362, [Class 43, Fastenings, Dress], may be provided. In a modification, the metal plate is attached to a separate member movable on the collar. The device is shown applied to a two-part adjustable collar and to a collar comprising an inner broad band and an outer narrow one connected together.
