Abstract

167,915. Richards, A. W. June 11, 1920. No Patent granted (Sealing fee not paid). Rods and bars.-Steel or other metal is cast in an ingot mould having a tapered vent closed by a detachable member and is consolidated in a hydraulic press. The member is removed and the metal extruded when this can be done by moderate pressure and without bleeding. The metal mav then be cut into lengths and rolled without re-heating.
