Disc.-A brake for aeroplane and other wheels which are required to be readily detachable comprises a series of discs B<2> mounted on a ring B<1> which is contained in an open-ended chamber B on the wheel hub and coacting with discs C<1> carried by an annular member C to which are secured ears E engaging the edge of a fixed member F. The member C is adapted to be moved endways, to press the brake-discs together, by a cam G<2> operated by a lever G.
