167,695. Stevens, H. A. Aug. 28, 1920. Axle and like distance members or adjusters.-To prevent relative movements of the frame and front axle from interfering with the steering, motor vehicles of the type having transverse front springing and steering-rod, are provided with a radius-rod equal in length to the steering-rod, and pivoted at its ends to the frame and to the axle, at points as near as possible to the joints of the steering-rod. The radius-rod b is pivoted by ball joints g, a to the axle i and frame respectively, the joint g being arranged close to one joint j of the steering-rod h and the joint a being arranged close to the other joint e, when the rod is in mid-position.
