Sliver conductors.-In a cotton-preparing machine in which the sliver is passed between a series of pairs of rollers, a guide or guard comprising a bridge portion, and supporting arms and legs is arranged between two pairs of rollers. The arms or legs are shaped to bear upon two adjacent rollers. The guide may comprise a bar or bridge F with feet G of diamond or other shape to be supported by the two pairs of rollers B, C, or may be provided with antifriction rollers working between the rollers, or may be suspended by arms resting on the tops of the upper rollers.
