Abstract
167,378. Magney, F. July 23,1920. Rolling; roller and like tables.-In a rolling- mill the front table 1 is pivoted at the end remote from the rolls, and is supported near the rolls by a lever 30, pivoted at 31 to one of the roll bearings. The back table 2 is supported at the end near the rolls by a lever 29 pivoted at 41, and is free at the other end. The tables are raised to inclined positions, for returning the work from the back table to the front table, by means of chains from pulleys on overhead shafts 16, 10, 11. Chains from pulleys 22, 23 on the shaft 16 are attached to one end of the table 1, while the table 2' is raised at both ends by chains from pulleys 24, 25, 26, 27 on the shafts 10, 11. The shaft 10 drives the shafts 16, 11 by means of chains 13, 12, and is itself driven by means of a rope 7 attached to a chain wound on a pulley 21 on the shaft 10. The rope 7 is passed several times round a pulley loosely mounted on the journal 6 of one of the rolls, and is attached to a pulley 8, loosely mounted on a journal carried by the roll housing. A pulley 9, driven by a belt from a pulley 19 secured on the journal 6, can be moved into frictional engagement with the pulley 8 by means of toggle levers operated from a foot lever.
