Abstract

167,081. Friederichs, H. July 26, 1920. No Patent granted (Sealing fee not paid). Folding seats.-The side members 2 of a folding chair, bench, &c. are pivoted on vertical round irons 4 to the back 1 and the side members 3 of the seat are pivoted at 6 to the ends of horizontal offset portions of the irons 4. The members 3 are attached to the seat boards so as to leave a space for the members 2, and the seat is supported in the horizontal position on stops 5. In a modified form, the side members 3 are dispensed with and the back is elongated to form the back legs of the chair. When the seat is turned down it is locked in position by the engagement of plates 10 with plates 11 on the front legs. The top surfaces of the plates 11 also act as stops.
