Abstract

166,172. Annison, R. H. Sept. 6, 1917. Reinforced concrete.-Spacers for main bars are formed with forks c having raised lips, eyes, or studs e, Fig. 1, or holes q and a raised rim k, Fig. 5, through or around which binding-wires are passed. Some of the forks may have the sides extended and twisted together as at n, Fig. 9. Two spacers may be connected end to end by a sleeve p, Fig. 10, having tongues which engage holes in the spacers. The body portion of the spacers may be corrugated, ridged, or flanged; for piles, the spacers may be formed with radial arms, or they may be square, circular, or other shape with a central hole and recesses for the rods.
