Clcaning.-Relates to cleaning - rods provided with teeth for gripping a cleaning-rag, and consists in providing two sets of teeth 11, 12, the teeth in each set being inclined away from a central uniting - portion 8. The teeth may be formed by reducing the end of the rod 7 to square section and forming notches in the edges. The part from which the teeth 11 are cut preferably has its sides inclined at 45 degrees to the part from which the teeth 12 are cut, as is indicated in the sections on the lines 3-3, 4-4 shown in Figs. 3 and 4. The notches may be so cut that their narrowest sections 16 are either square or circular.
