Abstract

165,912. Jagger, P. B. March 5, 1920. Continuous-discharge apparatus with moving containers.-Relates to grinding, mixing, and agitating machines of the type employing rotary horizontal or inclined cylinders, and especially to ball and like grinding machines. According to the invention the material passes through a succession of cylinders 1 - - 4, which are rotated in opposite directions alternately. The material is fed from a hopper 11<a> and passes through sliding gates 24 in fixed partitions 8 and is finally discharged at the spout 28. Materials may also be fed at intermediate points from hoppers 19d. The gates 24 may be provided with screens or grids to prevent the balls &c. from passing.
